Alessandra Puggioni, MD

Dr Puggioni is the Medical Director of our Vein Clinic. She has been serving the greater Phoenix area since 2009. As a compassionate and  experienced medical professional her first priority is to put your safety first. She is committed to provide the highest quality level of customer service, safe medical treatments, and compassionate care to improve the health and wellness of all her patients. Her goal is to make her patients feel better as quickly as possible. We offer treatments for venous disorders like varicose veins, ulcers, venolymphedema, which are safely performed in the office.

With nearly 25 years of medical experience and having performed thousands of surgical procedures including open surgeries and minimally invasive procedures, Dr. Puggioni will assess your vein problems and will create a custom treatment plan that's right for you. As a Vein Specialist  she understands the importance of educating her patients on the most effective ways to take care of  their legs, so they can heal quickly. 

We are located in Scottsdale,  AZ and Dr Puggioni has  been providing vascular services to patients from  out of state as well as the  greater Phoenix area since 2009.

Alessandra Puggioni, MD



Dr. Puggioni received her MD degree at age 23 from the Universty of Rome "La Sapenza", and received her 5-year General Surgery education at the University of Hawaii. Dr. Puggioni was trained as a vein doctor by the surgeons who pioneered venous valve repairs, deep venous reconstructions, perforators ablations. She won several awards during her residency, including the "Best Resident`s Chairman Award"  for two consecutive years, due to her superior surgical skills, patient management and team leadership.

Dr Puggioni completed her Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in 2006. 

During her 25-year medical career Dr. Puggioni has won several prestigious awards, such as the BSN research Fellowship of the American Venous Forum for her original experimental research and Marco Polo Fellowship by the Society for Vascular Surgery.  

After Fellowship Dr. Puggioni worked as an academic vascular surgery attending at Maimonides Medical Center in New York, where she held a position as Ass. Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY.   Dr. Puggioni is  double board-certified  by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery.  

Dr. Puggioni is former Chair of Vascular Surgery of Honor Health Osborn Medical Center in Scottsdale AZ and has been awarded status of Distinguished Fellow of the American Venous Forum in 2016. Dr Puggioni is a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery. 

Dr. Puggioni is a nationally and internationally known expert in Venous Disease, serving as member of several vascular societies committees and councilor. She has presented her research work at major national and international vascular meetings, and has authored over thirty peer-reviewed medical articles as well as twelve book chapters.
